How do I find water to open a water well?
There are currently five known methods for locating groundwater for a well. Four of the methods are based on science; one is based on magic and tradition. They vary in accuracy, reliability, and cost. They are as follows… 1. Dowsing or witching; some people believe works even though it has been extensively put to the test, and found wanting. There is currently no scientific evidence to support the claims that dowsers can find anything. 2. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; This method has promise but is still in the experimental stages, and will likely not be affordable to the average farmer or land-owner. 3. Self Potential; this method is used as a means of detecting the flow of a known water source. This method is simple, inexpensive and unreliable for locating groundwater, due to many factors that may produce similar results. 4.
