The Florida Department of Corrections provides online access to current and former records held by the state. Records for inmates held in federal prisons in Florida also can be searched online. Compile your information. List the facts you know about the former inmate you are searching for. The inmate’s true full name (as opposed to a “street name”) is especially helpful for database searches. Also compile information about dates of incarceration, the nature of the crime and the age and physical description of the inmate. Search the Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) inmate databases. FDOC has several databases available the provide information on current inmates, former (released) inmates, escaped inmates and those who are not in jail but are on parole or otherwise “under supervision.” There is also a universal search that will examine all databases at once.
