How do i find out who our family crest was awarded to and when/why?
I am trying to find out when and WHY our family crest was awarded to and most importantly WHO .. im on a mission to trace as much as i can about our family history as we beleive we have some land 3 generations back which has every three years been refused a claim on it due to not being able to prove our direct herritage to the origianal owner. To prove our claim the doomsday book is of utmost importance but befoer i can search that I need to know who our crest was awarded to so i can check for his ancestors for name changes… any website links of use, information and even technical law stuff we may of over looked, all info most welcome to help us in our search..
