How do i find out if a house is concrete?
You are right to be cautious as the concrete houses suffered a great deal from cold and condensation leading to mould growth. You should try the local authority where all planning is approved and there should be a record of when the houses were built and of the construction details. If it was an ex council house then it is likely to have been “enveloped” with an outer construction and rendered so that the concrete is still on the inside. Try having a look in the loft as the inside finish there will not be as good as the outside. It will at least show up the inner wall construction and materials. Also ask the owner. If they know they are duty bound to tell you as if found to be incorrect some time later then they could be liable for damages. Also ask the agent if there is one. If he does not know he should know who would.
