Hi, You can find your static IP address by just visiting http://www.ip-details.com/ It displays your IP address with basic geographical location, ISP, etc.,

When you type IPCONFIG you will get the IP address of your computer. Did you configure this to be static? Check: Start> Connect to> Show all connections Select your Ethernet adapter, right click, click properties. Scroll down and highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click properties. If “obtain IP address automatically” is bulleted, then your computer is configured for a dynamic IP address, not static. Otherwise the addresses that was inputted into the address box is the static IP of your computer. If you are asking about the static IP of your connection, that would be that IP address your ISP gave to you, assuming you paid for a static IP. Calling your ISP would be the easiest way of finding it.

You did not indicated how you did your configuration of the LAN port of the pc. If you configured it for a dynamic IP address you do not have a static LAN IP address you have a dynamic IP address. If you configured it for a static IP address, you should know exactly what it is because you typed in static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS servers when you configured the LAN static IP address. If you did not enter in this information you probably have a dynamic IP address. Click on Start, right click on my network places and click on properties. On the pop up highlight Internet Properties (TCP/IP) and click on Properties button just below. Look at this pop up window. It will indicate by the selection of the radio knob whether you have a static or dynamic IP selected. If static you will see the info. If the dynamic IP address is selected you can find the IP address in command prompt using the “ipconfig /all” command.

Type IPCONFIG and the IP address is your static IP address.

If you’re behind a router (or behind a network) your computers Local IP Address won’t necessarily be that of the one being displayed online. To find your local ip address, click “Start”, then click “Run” then type “cmd” to bring up a dos prompt, then type “ipconfig /all”, you’ll see your subnet, ip address, and gateway displayed here. The problem with just entering “ipconfig /all” in the run page is that once ipconfig is finished running it’ll close the dos prompt window, so you won’t have the chance to see what information displays; so by entering cmd and then typing your command, the window will stay open until you’re done with it. If you’re instead looking for what IP address you’re using online, you should use a service like http://www.whatismyip.
