There are several free online communties to find friends. One I really like is Myspace. You can start a profile with all the information about how you want your new life to be, and do not include info about the ex. You can search for local people or non local people who have similar interests to chat with. Starting over is hard, and the last thing you need is to be constantly reminded of your past. I agree with faydra about joing some local clubs/groups to keep your mind off things. And when you do, be friendly and open with your new friends, but dont bring up the ex. Really start over. Talk about things you used to do and what you want to do now. Just be yourself, and dont dwell on your past. Things will work themselves out. You will be able to move forward and forget about this relationship.
