How do i find dos shell (command prompt) on my portable hard disk drive?

The Dos shell only resides on a hard drive that has Windows running from it. Since you are probably not running Windows from your portable drive, the dos shell is not on that drive. But it does not have to be for you to use it on that drive. Simply start a dos shell from your regular hard drive (Start > Run > cmd) and then at the command prompt enter the letter for your portable drive. For example if the portable is your G drive you would type in G: The command prompt should change to display ‘G:’ and you are now running the dos shell on your portable hard drive.
