Hi- Well you can look for a breeder online but make sure you actually get the puppy in person, and meet the dog’s parents. Of course, anyone can have the parents in the household and claim to be a good breeder. The only way to make sure they are a reputable breeder is to research the breed and make sure that the Yorkie parents and puppies you see fit the description of a standard Yorkie. The delicate head is flat, with a medium length muzzle topped by a cute black button nose. The eyes are bright and dark with dark rims. The ears are small, erect and triangular. Hair on the ears is dark. The tail is docked at 3 to 5 days to half its original length. If the Yorkies you are viewing do not meet this description then you know it is a backyard breeder who is not breeding purebreds and is just trying to make a quick buck, not better the breed. You really need to know far more about the breed than you do now before you contact breeders. Most serious breeders in the US wouldn’t waste their time answering the questions you have.
