How do I film snowmobile action in bright snow filled settings?

There are probably two problems happening at once here: (A) too much light saturating the CCDs, and (B) atypical subject contrast, fooling the autoexposure circuit. As for the first item, several people have emailed me to say the camera has a washed out picture in bright outdoor settings- I’m sure the sun on snow, or desert sand, is about as bright as it gets.
