If you can’t get a copy from your employer then go to the nearest IRS local Office and request the wage information transcript. Let them know you need the information to file your tax return. The wage information transcript is not the actual W2 but all the information is the same as a w2 with the exception that it doesn’t provide state information. If you can visit your local IRS office then download form 4506-T from the IRS website www.irs.gov and mail/fax to appropriate address/fax number. Or call 1-800-829-1040 to request the wage information to mailed to you.
