I visited the County of Santa Clara Tax Assessor Site: http://eservices.sccgov.org/ari/home.do There you can enter your address to find the assessed value of your home, if you’re interested. Just entering your address will tell you your tax rate area, which is: Tax Rate Area: The County is divided into tax rate areas determined by the varying boundaries of cities, schools, and special districts. Property in different tax rate areas may be subject to different tax rates from voter approved bond indebtedness. The first two digits of each tax rate area identify the area in which the property is located – the city or the unincorporated area. I guess because of the different divisions in SC County, they don’t post the tax rate (many other counties attach it to your property record card, but I searched for a card and the property taxes due aren’t available online in Santa Clara County).
