How do I figure out the net income when all I have is the unadjusted trial balance?

You need to know the account categories in order to calculate net income. You need to know revenue, expenses, gains/losses, and those types of accounts in order to calculate the net income. If all you have are account numbers with no “chart of account key”, then it will be very difficult. If you at least have account names, you can pretty much categorize each account from its title.
