A. The entry portal to GEL starts in your sophomore year with UPOP, the Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program. If you haven’t taken UPOP, you may be required to take Foundations of Engineering Leadership (FEL) or apply for a petition to bypass the UPOP requirement. GEL Year One builds on the UPOP experience by providing students augmenting elective modules, courses, and learning experiences like the weekly ELLs. GEL Year Two builds on what you learned in GEL Year One and augments these elective courses by incorporating a Internship Plus experience and personalized leadership development activities with a high degree of interaction among industry leaders, faculty, and fellow students.
