How do I enter either the ELPOP track or the Gordon Engineering Leader track?
A. Both tracks begin in your sophomore year with UPOP, the Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program. After you’ve completed UPOP, you can commit to participate in ELPOP or apply for the more intensive Gordon Engineering Leader track. ELPOP builds on the UPOP experience by providing a set of augmenting elective modules, courses, and learning experiences. The GEL track is a highly focused program that augments these elective courses by also incorporating personalized leadership development activities with a high degree of interaction among industry leaders, faculty, and fellow students. Depending on the level you choose (ELPOP or GEL), you may be asked to: • Complete a self-assessment of your competence in the Capabilities of Effective Engineering Leaders through your participation in projects, internship and UPOP participation, and engineering leadership course completion, etc. • Create a personal plan of how to improve your less well-developed Capabilities of Effective Engineering
