How do I enter an Akismet key and what does it do?
Akismet is a collaborative effort to make comment spam something you don’t have to worry about. Their system analyzes millions of comments posted every day around the web and using all that information they have created a fantastic resource that helps detect what is and isn’t spam. Because they are such nice people, they allow you to access that system for free, assuming your blog is a personal one and not commercial (which of course none on TP are!). You will need to apply for an API key here, and once you receive it via email, just enter it in the right spot under your Travellerspoint blog’s settings page, and you are ready to go. Akismet will then check all comments made by the public to your blog and help filter out spam. Please consider donating to Akismet if you use their system.
