How Do I Enable The Superuser On Mac OS X?
This is going to be useful to me, so I’m glad you made me figure it out. First, go into the utilities folder inside your Applications folder, and launch the program “Netinfo Manager”. In the Netinfo Manager program, click on Security from the menu bar, then click “Authenticate” and enter your password. You will need to have rights to do this. Once you have authenticated, click on “Security” again and then click “Enable Root User.” If Root has not been set up yet, you will be prompted to create a root password. REMEMBER THIS PASSWORD! Once this has been done, you will be able to act as Root, or SuperUser, from the terminal prompt. If you get an error that says you need to be superuser, type “SU” and hit enter. You will be prompted for the Root account password, so enter it here. They you will be able to do anything! Warning! You will be able to do ANYTHING, including cutting off your own head, so please be careful. I apologise if you really know what you’re doing, but it’s a little risk
