How Do I Enable Java in My Web Browser?
Java is a compiler used in many web applications to run advanced interactions with the visitor’s machine. Java is required for certain science applications, online games and web components. Some users choose to disable Java, because it can cause a security issue on the machine. However, Java can be re-enabled to allow interactivity with selected websites. This is done in the properties of your Firefox or Internet Explorer browser. Click the “Tools” menu item and then select “Internet Options.” This opens a new window where you can configure your web browser’s properties. Click the “Programs” tab. In this window, click “Manage Add-ons.” This opens a window with a list of programs enabled on your machine. Click the icon labeled “Java Plug-in.” Below the list box, select “Enabled” and press the “OK” button. Press the “OK” button in the main properties window. Java is now enabled in your browser.
