Clean thermal print head with Isopropyl Alcohol. The thermal print head or rollers are dirty. Clear the print head and rollers as described in the Users Guide, “KODAK Desktop Color Proofer 9000,” Chapter 4 – Maintaining the Proofer. The Ribbion is wrinkled. Straighten the ribbon. A wrinkle can cause a lower density area of color to print in the shape of the wrinkle. Wrinkles can be very small and self correcting as the ribbion isadvanced. To prevent excess dirt from contaminating the proofs place the KODAK DCP 9000 in a low traffic area that is an office environment. Cover the unit with the cloth dust cover when it is turned off and not in use. The “Special Blue Dust Cover” is a static resistant cover that will help reduce the possibility ofenvironmental contaminates from entering the proofer when not in use.
