Windows Vista is an version of Windows that was released after Windows XP. You can customize certain settings in Windows Vista including changing the folder icons. Although you can change individual folder icons, you can also make a global change to all of the folder icons at the same time. This can be done by changing some simple operating system settings and configurations. Find any folder on your computer and right-click the folder. Select “Properties” to open the folder properties. Click on the “Customize” tab located at the top of the window. Set the folder settings to apply to all folders. There is a drop-down menu under the field “Use this folder type as a template.” Click this menu and select “All Folders.” Also click the check box next to “Also apply this template to all subfolders.” Click the “Change icon” button in the same window. Click the “Browse” button and select a new image for the icon. Click “OK” to save the settings and the new icon will be applied to all folders.
