How do I earn compensatory time to use during the Winter Break?
Please note that if you are a classified or non-exempt professional employee and are eligible to use compensatory time, you will need to work 20 hours and 20 minutes to accrue 32 hours of compensatory time. Working additional hours for the accrual of compensatory time requires the agreement of both the supervisor and the employee in writing before the time is worked. Working compensatory time will be helpful in allowing staff to get caught up on work in advance of the college’s Winter Break, thus minimizing the burden of lost work time. All departments are encouraged to do so for this specific purpose. Some of the easiest ways for classified employees to accumulate compensatory time are to take only hour for lunch, to come in hour early, or to stay hour late.
