How do I earn an exemption from the CUNY Skills Assessment Tests?
A. Here are the exemptions: Students who earn an English Regents score of at least 75 or an SAT Verbal score of at least 480 are exempt from taking the Reading and Writing CUNY Skills Assessment Tests. Students who earn a score of 75 or better on a Mathematics Regents test (either Sequential 2 or Sequential 3, A or B) or an SAT Mathematics score of 480 or better are considered Math Competent by the University; however, these students must still take the CUNY Skills Assessment Test in Mathematics for placement purposes.
