EarthLink is an Internet Service Provider (ISP). In 1999, EarthLink partnered with America Online to provide a co-branded instant messaging application based on America Online’s popular AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) application. The application allowed EarthLink users to chat in real time with other EarthLink users as well as AOL members. EarthLink no longer offers the co-branded instant messaging application, but the unbranded version of AIM is still available as a free download. Visit the AOL Instant Messenger website (see Resources). Select “Download AIM” to begin downloading the installer. Select your operating system, if prompted. Double-click the downloaded installer. The AIM installer application will launch. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process, it should only take a minute. Once complete, the installer will exit and the instant messenger application will be properly installed on your computer. Launch the AIM application and enter your account details to log in to
