How do I do double-sided / black & white printing?
The HP 4000 black & white laser printer and the Xerox 850 DP color wax printer in the Student Lab can do double sided / black & white printing. Double sided printing conserves both our environmental and financial resources and is strongly encouraged. Color printing is generally 5 to 10 times more expensive than black & white printing. We encourage you to print in black & white whenever possible (e.g. rough drafts, copies of web pages for your personal records, etc.) For the HP 4000: • First, make sure that you have added the printer as explained above. • Print to the SL-HP4000 from your application. (e.g. for MS Word, click on “File” on the toolbar, then “Print”, then select “\\IYO1\SL-HP4000” as the printer. • Click on the “Properties” button in the upper right corner of the Print window. • Then select “Print on Both Sides (Duplex Printer)” and chose “Long Side” for portrait orientation or “Short Side” for landscape orientation. • Click “OK” and proceed with printing as usual. • Depen
