How do I dispose of Fluorescents and Mercury Containing Items?

0

New Law – Fluorescents and Mercury Containing Items As of January 1, 2008 New Hampshire State Law prohibits throwing items containing mercury (Thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent bulbs) into the trash. Mercury is a very toxic substance and requires special handling. KEEP FLUORESCENT BULBS, COMPACT FLUORESCENT BULBS, THERMOMETERS, AND THERMOSTATS OUT OF YOUR TRASH! Bring fluorescent bulbs to Nashua True Value (Belletete’s True Value, 80 Northeastern Boulevard, Nashua, 603-880-7778) or ACE Hardware stores for recycling. Bring thermometers and other mercury-containing items to the Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup days, which are listed on the Highway Department Webpage.
