You can use the DHCP Manager snap-in to disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP for DHCP clients: 1. Logon to the DHCP server and start the DHCP Manager. 2.Right-click Scope Option and press Configure Options. 3. Select the Advanced tab. 4. Press Microsoft Options under Vendor Class. 5. Do NOT change Default User Class. 6. Check the 001Microsoft Disable NetBIOS Option box and then set the date entry value to 0x2. At the DHCP client: 1.In the Network and Dial-up Connections tool, right-click Local Area Connection and press Properties. 2. Double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and press the Advanced button. 3. Select the WINS tab. 4. Select Use NetBIOS setting from the DHCP server. 5. Press OK until the dialog closes. NOTE: See tip 3934.
