How do I decide whether priorities should be included in the Goal Agreement or the Professional Development Plan?
Goals are work-related priorities – “what” must get done during the performance cycle. The PDP includes the developmental priorities – “how” to get it done effectively. There may be overlap if you need to develop a skill or learn something new to enable you to achieve your goals for the cycle. The PDP should complement your goals in that if you need professional development to be able to attain a goal, the PDP is the place to capture that.
