How do I decide between heating mats and cable kits?
Generally speaking heating mats are preferred to heating cables because they are quicker to install and, as the spacing of the cable on the heating mat is predetermined, it ensures an even distribution of heat. However because the heating mats have a 500mm width that cannot be reduced, they can be difficult to install in irregular shaped rooms or where there are a number of permanent fixtures that have to be worked around. In these rooms heating cables are more convenient.
