How do I deal with tenants who are creating a danger (drugs, gang activity, violence and abuse) in the rental?
• Call me immediately. I cannot deal with this question in a general way. • If the police have not been involved yet, contact them and get them to investigate. We may need to use the results of their investigation in court. • Contact your state legislator. This serious problem is not dealt with adequately in our present statutes. Tell them that we must have a clear and present danger provision in the landlord and tenant act. The housing authority has had a similar provision for years.
