How do I deal with clashes of personality within a project team?
Clashes of opinion often represent gaps in knowledge and theory. These can then be explored to produce new avenues of research, and new ways of thinking about a research problem. Even though you will not always be intellectually “comfortable” since you will be challenged by team members with different perspectives, you will want to be able to trust them and know that they share your interdisciplinary goals. Leading an interdisciplinary team requires tact and the ability to refresh members’ commitment to shared goals.
