How do i deactivate the passenger airbag in a 2002 mark 4 VW Golf SDi?
Hi it is possible to disable the drivers airbag on the mark 4 Golf. Unfortunately it will involve a trip to the dealer. The dealer will be able to fit a disconnection kit and code it out using there diagnostic machine. They will give you some forms to sign, to say you have asked for this to be done and it should be recorded in the service book and also on the dealers electronic records. A sticker also has to be displayed in view from the passenger seat warning any passengers the air bag is inactive, the dealer will should supply this. When you have the air bag reactivated that will again be recorded in the records and the sticker can be removed.
