a bit fiddly but can be done you take out the slats that you dont want your left with excess cord where the slats were cut off this leaving tails on the cords which will have to be tied to support slat at bottom this does work as i have done it myself martyn 24hr property repair ltd

On the bottom is a heavy slat with plugs underneath. Remove plugs then remove as many thin slats as you need. Do not cut strings yet. Next feed the strings back through the holes on the heavy bottom slat. Determine length of string to cut off but do not cut off until you tie a knot on both sides to prevent string from going through holes. Once you have it adjusted to where you want it trim off excess string and push up inside. Replace the plugs on the bottom and you are good to go. Hope this helps!

I had the same problem. I used a ruler and a pencil. I had to cut each one separately. If you don’t cut them separately, they’ll be uneven.
