Basically all characters/symbols/logos have to be provided by a font. In V2.1 and above, symbols and characters can be defined within a Unigraphics part following some simple guidelines. Such ‘Unigraphics part fonts’ can be used in a seamless way within TrueTypeUG like any other font type. Symbols and characters can also be defined in TrueType-fonts. Creating and editing of TrueType-fonts can be either subcontracted to a font design company (the web will probably list a service in your area) or you can do it on your own. For doing so, a couple of tools are available: • FontLab – Professional font-editor • Font Creator – Shareware font-editor • CorelDRAW – Occasionally used to create and edit TrueType fonts.
