How do I create and upload a FIELD POINT NAME (FPN) file?
FPNs are uploaded via a simple comma-delimited (no quotes) or tab-delimited text file which can be created using either a simple text editor such as Windows “Notepad” or a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel and then saving as a delimited text file. If using notepad, type in the GLOBAL ID followed by either a comma or a tab. Then enter the FPN. The third field is optional and contains the RP FACILITY ID which is the RP’s own in-house identifier for the site (GeoTracker ignores the actual content). If you are including the RP FACILITY ID, hit either comma (or tab) and enter the RP FACILITY ID, then hit “Enter” to start a new row. If not including RP FACILITY ID, just hit “Enter” after entering the FPN. Make sure there are no blank rows in your file. Save the completed file.
