How do I create an Icarus/e-mail account?
To create an account you must have your i-card in your hand. Click on the CREATE NEW ACCOUNT icon in the INTERNET folder and follow the instructions (submit social security number, I-card number and so forth, as the prompts dictate). When you are prompted to choose which account to apply for, ICARUS (IRS) because you are a UIC student (TIGGER accounts are reserved for UIC staff and faculty) If you choose to read the document on Computer Use Policy LATER, do not be surprised to find it to be the first document in your e-mail INBOX when you log into your account the first time. You will be issued an icarus userid immediately, BUT you will be able to log on for the first time the following day. Remember your userid, whatever it might be, since this will be the basis for your e-mail address. For example, if your userid is wwhitm23, your e-mail address will be wwhitm23@uic.edu. This is the address you will share with the universe at large. Do NOT share your password with anyone.
