How do I create a career ladder research position in AVUE Digital Services (ADS)?
Because of the need to assess the individual researcher’s accomplishments in order to classify individual research positions, NASA users should establish the full performance level research position, typically at the GS-13 level, by using the “Create a Specialized Position” choice on the ADS Main Menu. Individual research positions above the GS-13 would also be established in that manner when it has been determined the researcher has met the grade level criteria above the GS-13 in terms of research body of work accomplished, peer review, etc. For GS-9 to 12 positions, the career ladder functionality, also available through the “Create a Specialized Position” choice on the ADS Main Menu, should be used to establish a GS-9 to 12 career ladder position that performs work in support of or in conjunction with the full performance research assignment.
