How do I convince my parents that I am ready to play M rated video games?
You’re obviously a very intelligent, well-rounded kid. Try to explain to them that you can make the distinction between video game and reality, and that it’s not going to influence your thoughts. Also, you can try reeling your dad into playing a video game with you that’s rated M. Maybe try Modern Warfare 2. It doesn’t seem all that bloody and gorey, although it’s definitely violent. It deals with military, though, and that’s a prevalent part of American society and culture. Lots of times fathers enjoy video games, and once you have one parent on your side you’re good to go. My parents began letting me play M rated video games when Grand Theft Auto 3 came out. I know my mom didn’t enjoy what was going on in the game, but she said it was alright because she knew it was just a video game and it wasn’t going to influence me. Hope something works out for you, man!
