How do I convert Mac Quark files to InDesign on a PC?
Transfer the FileTransfer the QuarkXpress file from the Mac on to the PC with the Adobe InDesign software. Make sure to transfer any related files from the QuarkXPress document to the PC hard drive as well. If you have QuarkXpress on the PC, make sure it is closed before you go to open InDesign.Open InDesignOpen InDesign. Go to File from the main menu. Scroll down to Open. The “Open a file” box opens. In “Files of type” scroll down to QuarkXpress. In “Files name” scroll to find your QuarkXpress file. Click “Open.” Your file will open in InDesign.Troubleshoot Your FileUse the Adobe dialog box in the lower left corner of the “Open a file” box if your file does not open initially. Try to save as a copy by clicking on clicking in “Copy” in the “Open a file box.” If the converted QuarkXpress file is problematic while you use it, go to “File,” “Export.” Save the file in InDesign Markup (IDML) format. Close out of the file. Reopen it in the IDML file format.
