However, considering the type of plant and other factors, products that contain MSMA or fenoxaprop may prove useful for selective control in the home lawn. This weed will die completely with winter cold but will germinate anew in spring. Use a typical crabgrass herbicide (pendimethalin, dithopyr, prodiamine, oxadiazon) in the spring to prevent additional germination next year. Follow instructions on the pesticide label. If jointhead arthraxon is not listed on the label, follow the instructions for crabgrass control.
