How do I connect using mIRC or other chat software?
The server address for the main Gremlins area is IRC.GREMLINS.COM. This is the same as using the chat page that is part of the GREMLINS website. To configure mIRC to access this site do the following – • Click on File • Click on Setup • Click ADD • Type Gremlins Chat for the description and press the TAB key • Type IRC.GREMLINS.COM for the server address and press ENTER • Enter the address into the textbox • DO NOT ENTER your real name – use your online nickname • DO NOT ENTER your email address. Use anon@somewhere.com. This is due to the fact that others can use software to determine your e-mail address and possibly harass you with unwanted e-mail. • Enter your online nickname • Enter an alternate name…usually your nickname with a 01 appended i.e. NAME01 • Click on Connect Invisible this will keep others from tracking where you are on IRC. • Click on Connect To Server Once you get to the server you will see a welcome screen.
