As long as your pharmacy management system is certified to connect to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, operated by SureScripts, you can work with your vendor to enable your store to communicate electronically with physicians using your existing system. Pharmacies should ask their vendor: • If any patches or upgrades to their system are required • If any amendments to their contract are needed to cover transaction fees incurred for using the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, operated by SureScripts. • What training is provided to get used to the new or upgraded system SureScripts does not develop, sell or endorse prescribing applications but instead works with existing vendors to certify their technologies to connect to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, operated by SureScripts. SureScripts also acts as a resource to assist pharmacies in securing their connection.
