How do I connect to the iSchool Virtual Private Network (VPN)?
You will need to connect to our VPN server if you would like to remotely connect to your iSchool check-out server or if your ISP actively blocks ports and you need to access your Faculty/Staff/PhD Exchange account and internal fileshares.The hostname of our VPN server is vpn.ischool.washington.edu; you will need this information in order to setup the VPN connection. Please use your iSchool userid and password after the VPN connection is setup when you are prompted to login.To set up a VPN connection in Windows Vista: • From your start menu, select the “Connect to” option. • Click “Set up a connection or network” at the bottom of the window. • Select “Connect to a workplace”, then “No, create a new connection” • Select “Use my Internet connection (VPN)” • In the Internet address field, enter “vpn.ischool.washington.edu”, and in the name field enter “iSchool VPN”.
