How do I connect to a Windows PC to stream media using Windows Media Player 11?
A big thanks to viru.doshi for this one Here’s my little step by step how-to showing you how to set up streaming from a Windows based PC using Windows Media Player 11. This is mostly for those people who’ve been unable to connect Xbox360 with PC at all. If you have Windows Media Connect then please uninstall it and download and install Windows Media Player 11. ** You do NOT need to install Media Connect when you have Media Player 11 installed ** ** This guide only shows you how to stream WMVs NOT DivX type files ** Throughout the rest of the guide the following shorthand will be observed: Windows Media Player 11 = WMP11 Where you have to click a button or menu item the name of the button/menu item is written in italic font. Step 1 Ensure you have read the above and have WMP11 installed. Disable your firewall – but if you only use the Windows XP Firewall you can leave this turned on.
