How do I connect to a Quake 2 master server in GameSpy?
You must download and install GameSpy v1.5 (or higher) which supports Q2 servers. When the installer asks you whether you want it to setup the proper path for starting Q2 in the Gamplay options, uncheck the box if you’re using a custom batch file to start Q2. Do check the box that offers to setup the Q2 master servers list, though.
