Just connect the printer from you laptop same process when you connect it to your PC. You don’t have to turn off the laptop. When the laptop detected that a new hardware is being connected, it will prompt you to the installation process. If it ask for the installation CD, just put the CD that comes with the printer to you laptop. Follow the instructions. That’s all.

There should be a USB cable that goes in the USB drive in the back of the computer and the other end in the printer slot (at the back also) that it fits in.

The same way you connect the home computer to the printer. If the printer is an older one, it won’t have a USB port.
