i can connect to my FTP server from my PC through my ZOOM X6 wireless router but when i try to upload my website from my HP laptop i cannot connect to the server. I get an error message telling me to “check URL and network connection and try again”. what can i do to get a connection from my laptop to my FTP server? You have to open both port 21 and 22 for FTP transfer. Port 21 is used for the actual connection/handshake, and port 22 is used for the actual data transfer. Edit: Also, make sure on your laptop you have both of those ports open in whatever firewall software you use. If it’s Windows Firewall, you can just disable it since you have a physical firewall (the router). Hope this helps!
