The monitors which use only 3 BNC connectors have only connectors for Red, Green and Blue signals. The sync information in those monitors are typically fed through the same connector which carries the Green picture component. This arrangement is called “sync on green”. The sync could be as well in any other picture component signal, but I have never seen other than green picture component used for sync signal. Some PC graphcis cards support this function so you might check if you card and drivers support this option.
