How do I configure Personal Firewall Plus to let me play Internet games?
Ensuring the Security Level is Set to “Trusting” For the most part, you don’t have to adjust Personal Firewall/Plus at all. However, some games require that your system accept traffic on different UDP ports, although these are mostly DirectPlay-based games. This means that if a game has “Rooms” or “Lobbies”, e.g. GameSpy Arcade or MSN Gaming Zone, you need to make an adjustment to the Personal Firewall/Plus. We have designed our “Trusting” security level to allow the necessary traffic type. You should also be aware that some unscrupulous internet users, or fellow gamers who konw your IP address, might attack using UDP floods to slow your PC down.
