How do I configure my firewall to run ZPoc in active mode?
First, check your ZPoc settings. Verify that your external IP number is set up in the IP number field. Then check the port number that ZPoc is using (1412 or 412 by default). You need to open this port to incoming traffic for both TCP and UDP data. If you’re using a real firewall (as opposed to a software one), you may also have to configure it to relay incoming traffic on that port. For outgoing ports, you have to open all ports (both TCP and UDP) for outgoing traffic, because when you connect to another user, that person may have chosen any port for their incoming traffic. ZPoc also makes use of HTTP to download room lists and version information, so this kind of traffic should be allowed as well. Note: if you do not know your internal/external IP you can find that info out by downloading IP2. The External IP is the “WAN” or Wide Area Network.
