How do I configure multiple dial-in setups for laptops with both network and modem cards?

Some users have experienced difficulties with routing when using a laptop which has both a network and a modem card used for UAB campus network access. If the machine had a network card with a 138.26.X.X number, the proper route is added when dialing into DPO because you have added a direct route into that domain since DPO is on that net. When you dial into BellSouth, you get an equivalent route for their explicit net. What is happening is that your existing network card has a route to 138.26.0.0 and the system seems to be preserving that (properly, although one would wish for the route to be shutdown since the card is not functional). You might take the approach of a second profile to use when disconnected from the UAB network (works for both NT 4.0 and Win9x). See Instructions for creating a second network profile. for further details. Submitted by: David Green.
