How do I configure Microsoft Outlook 2003 to connect using IMAP to my Pacific e-mail account from off-campus?
Note: The University of the Pacific (Pacific) provides access to these Secure IMAP instructions and connection for situations where other preferred e-mail access options (Outlook Web Access (OWA), VPN, etc). are not possible. These instructions should be used in full awareness of the Pacific E-mail Policies. The instructions below are for Microsoft (MS) Outlook 2003. The configuration for older/newer versions of MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express or other e-mail clients may be different. These instructions assume you already have an internet connection provided by your personal internet service provider (ISP) and have the settings necessary for their SMTP server. Adding and configuring a new email account: Select Tools, then E-mail Accounts… Select Add a new e-mail account, click Next. Select IMAP. Click Next. Fill the Internet E-mail Settings. User Information Your Name: enter your full name. E-mail Address: enter your full e-mail address with @pacific.edu.
